These guys are great! They were good at explaining everything they had done. The prices were fair and I didn't feel like I was being oversold on a bunch of work my car didn't really need. I highly recommend this shop if you have a BMW or other lux car that is out of warranty or you simply don't want to deal w/ dealership service departments (cause that's usually a disaster...).

Took my car in since my check engine light was on and they diagnosed it and reset since it was caused by my gas cap not being tight enough. The whole process took 15 minutes but didn't charge me. They seemed honest and I will come back for my next service.

Great place that I trust. I've had only good experiences here. I had them inspect a couple of different cars and they laid out everything that was needed and provided me with a fair price.

When the battery on my Mercedes died, I called AAA for a jump or replacement. AAA doesn't carry the battery for the ML350, so the driver recommended A&R. After checking the reviews online, I called Ralph to check on availability. I brought it in right away and the job had been completed when I returned an hour later. Ralph also replaced the inaccessible parking lights (which I had forgotten to ask about) for no extra charge. He also showed me how to complete a simple repair I was working on when the battery issue arose.

A&R is awesome. Allen & Ralph are both honest and will do the job right. *Beware of a guy named Andy Fisher (the pseudo-body shop guy next door to A&R). He fronts like he's part of the A&R crew and will use their name and reputation to earn your business. Don't fall for it! I'm paying $2K out of pocket to get his "repair" job fixed the right way.

To get right down to it - this is the place you were looking for! I was interested in a used BMW I found in LA online, drove up all the way from San Diego and took it to Ralph from A&R German Motors after some very friendly eMail contact. He drove it around the block and could already tell the dealer was charging too much for this car. After about 15 minutes he explained in detail and showed me everything that was wrong with the car. He did not charge me a penny for the work he'd done and offered that, if the seller was willing to bring the car to them, he'd save me the trip to LA by calling me with the inspection details so that I wouldn't drive all the way up for basically nothing. I'm still glad I did the trip though, I just moved to SoCal from Germany and it was so nice to find an honest, fair and friendly mechanic I can trust! I'd recommend them to anyone, thanks again!!

Ralph an Allen are great mechanics that are both straightforward, competitive and most importantly, trustworthy. I've had numerous repairs over the years with Ralph and Allen and each they've been very fair and a pleasant experience. These guys are highly recommended.

Allen is very honest and works quickly and effectively. Won't take my Mercedes anywhere else to be repaired!
